How do you cook chicken in the oven so it doesn't dry out?

To cook chicken in the oven from the beginning and prevent it from drying out, you can try the following tips.

  • Marinate the chicken: Marinate the chicken in a mixture of oil, vinegar, lemon juice, and spices for at least 30 minutes before cooking to add moisture and flavor to the chicken.
  • Bake at the right temperature: Bake chicken at a temperature of 375°F to 400°F (190°C to 200°C). If the temperature is too high, the chicken will dry out.
  • Cover with foil: Cover the chicken with foil for the first 20-30 minutes of baking. This will trap moisture and prevent the chicken from drying out.
  • Baste regularly: Baste the chicken with its own juices or a mixture of oil and seasonings every 10-15 minutes while it is baking.
  • Don't overcook: Chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Overcooking will result in dry, tough meat.
  • Let it rest: Once the chicken is done, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in moisture and tastier chicken.

By following these tips, you can make oven-baked chicken that is juicy and flavorful, or you can follow the steps of the recipe by cooking the chicken first on the stove, then letting it just take color under the heat of the oven which gives it a very delicious taste.
