  • One can of chickpea about 200g.
  • 2 medium cucumber.
  • a bunch of parsley.
  • One or two cloves of garlic.
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice.
  • 1 Tbsp of red pepper paste.
  • Some chili pepper flakes, it is optional.
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil.
  • 1 tbsp of vinegar.
  • Salt, black pepper and cumin. Cumin is very important spice to use with chickpea, as cumin has been shown to aid in digestion and reduce bloating, which can be helpful when eating fiber-rich foods like chickpeas.
While the basic recipe is simple, there are many variations that you can try to add more flavor or customize the dish to your liking. Directions

The basic recipe for chickpea salad typically involves combining chickpeas with chopped vegetables, such as cucumbers, and tomatoes , but in my recipe I didn't add the tomato along with some herbs and spices.
  1. To make a simple chickpea salad, start by rinsing and draining a can of chickpeas, then soak them in water for 30 minutes to one hour to get rid of most of the chemicals which is found in in the canned food.
  2. Then, in a bowl add the tbsp of the red pepper paste, add 1/4 of water to resolve the paste to be a suce.
  3. Add one or two mashed cloves of garlic, lemon juice, 1 tbsp of olive oil and 1 tbsp of vinegar, then mix them together.
  4. Add the salt, black pepper and cumin.
  5. Add the chickpeas and the chopped cucumbers and some fresh parsley.
  6. Serve it in a plate and garnish the top with the rest of the fresh parsley.
